How to choosing your gravity enduro adventure at Sea Otter Australia!
Get ready, riders! The Sea Otter Australia Festival will be launched this Ocotber on the brand-new but already legendary Mogo Trails, bringing with it two epic gravity enduro events that will test your skills and put grins on your faces. But before you dive headfirst into the dirt, let’s break down the difference between the Fox Superflow® Gravity Enduro and the Smith Enduro to help you pick your perfect shred-fest!
Surf’s always up on Mogo Trails!
The Mogo Trails, the Home of Sea Otter on the NSW South Coast, are set to explode with action. This brand-new, world-class network is the perfect playground for mountain bikers of all levels, and Sea Otter Australia is the mega festival you’ve been waiting for – a true celebration of all things cycling down under!
Fox Superflow® Gravity Enduro: Your Flexible Fun Day Out
If you’re looking for a dose of gravity-fed thrills without the time pressure or have a race together with your mates or shredding family, the Fox Superflow® is your jam. If you’ve raced with us before, you know that Rocky Trail Entertainment has truly dialled in this classic format for maximum enjoyment and accessibility.

Here’s the lowdown:
- Four Stages: You’ll be tackling four awesome stages within the Botanic Garden Zone of the Mogo Trails. These tracks are a fantastic mix, featuring green and blue trails, with a sprinkle of black for those who like to push it a bit.
- Ride Your Way: This is the beauty of Superflow®! There are no strict start orders or time limits on the liaison stages. Want to warm up? Go for it! Want to grab a snack and chat with mates between stages? Absolutely! You’ve got from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM to get your runs in. Categories are on the event site.
- Five Chances to Shine: The best part? You get up to five attempts on each stage! Hit the trails in party trains or absolutely push yourself to the limit. Your fastest time on each of the four stages counts towards your overall result. This means less pressure and more opportunities to nail that perfect line.
- Helmet & Protection: A standard Australian helmet is all you need, though full protection is recommended. Safety first, but comfort is key!
- Festival Freedom: This is huge! You pick either Saturday or Sunday to race your Superflow®. This leaves you loads of time to soak in the full Sea Otter Australia Festival experience. Imagine waking up Friday or your non-race day and heading out for a social ride to the epic Mount Wandera or the awsome Narooma trails – you can book shuttles and experiences through the Sea Otter Australia website in the lead-up to the Festival! Then, spend your afternoons or your non-race day hitting the massive Expo, checking out the latest gear, demo bikes, and maybe even bumping into some MTB legends!
- The Fox Superflow® is all about good times, great trails, and enjoying the festival vibe. It’s the perfect entry point for those new to enduro racing or seasoned riders who just want a relaxed, fun day on some killer tracks.
Smith Enduro: The Hardcore World Cup Experience

Alright, shredders, if you live for technical challenges, pushing your limits, and a truly competitive enduro experience, the Smith Enduro is calling your name! This is a hardcore format, designed to mirror the intensity of World Cup racing.
Get ready for:
- Ten Epic Stages, Two Days: This isn’t for the faint of heart! You’ll be conquering a massive ten stages across Saturday and Sunday, with five stages each day. You’ll race most of the stages blind. This race demands serious endurance and consistent performance.
- Strict Start Orders & Timed Liaisons: No cruising between stages. The Smith Enduro operates on a strict start order with timed liaison stages. Don’t miss your cut-off to avoid facing penalties. This is precision racing!
- One Run Counts: No do-overs here! You get one run per track, and that’s it. Every second counts, and mental focus is as important as physical endurance.
- Black and Double Black Territory: Be aware that the Smith Enduro will take you to some of the most gnarly, challenging tracks on Mogo Trails. We’re talking black and double-black diamond territory. This race is strictly for highly experienced riders who are comfortable and confident on seriously technical terrain. Categories are on the event site.
- Compulsory Protection: Safety is paramount. All riders must wear suitable Australian Standards body protection, including a full-face helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads. No exceptions!
