Founded in 1967, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is the government organisation that manages more than 896 protected areas in NSW, covering over 7.6 million hectares of land including national parks, nature reserves, World Heritage areas, rainforests, beaches, alpine areas and sites of great cultural and historic significance.
Everyone is invited to visit, explore, and enjoy these special places. Join our commitment to their protection and enhancement, so that generations to come may also experience the natural beauty of our parks.
We acknowledge Australia’s First Nations Peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land and give respect to Elders – past, present, and future – and through them to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
