Maxxis Effervelo Gravel Fondo Course Map

All our Challenge 42, Adventure 60 and Epic 80 riders will leave Hanging Rock event center under a neutral police escort and head south (left) on Beach Road staying right at the lights at George Bass Road. At the roundabout you take 2nd exit onto Glenella Road.

Riders turn left into Ridge Road after approximately 4km where our escort leaves us for the official start of the ride (remember its a ride not a race!).

Gravel Ride Distance Starts At Ridge Road

From here we follow The Ridge Road to our Marshal Point 13 turning right onto Dog Trap Road after 3.6km.

After 2.5 km turn right at Marshal 6 onto Myrtle Creek Road then right again after 700m on Cpt 142/1.

After 900m riders will use caution to pass through the gap in the fence and across the spillway of the dam to traverse the dam wall and onto Deep Creek Dam Rd

At Km 11 riders will pass the Superflow event hub and a hydration opportunity. Approximately 250m past the Botanic entrance you will take a track to the left which passes under the highway to the powerline easement where you turn left.

For 2.2km riders will follow the powerline easement to turn right onto Runnyford Rd.

We continue along the incredible Runnyford Road for approximately 7.5km to the junction of Egans Rd where our first feed station is.

Turning Point For Challenge 42 Riders – 24.5km

Our Challenge 42 riders turn around at this point and retrace back along Runnyford Road (see Return Instructions below).

Our Adventure 60 and Epic 80 riders continue along Runnyford Road to Nelingen which is approximately 9.5km. This is where our second water stop is situated at the junction of Bolaro Mountain Road.

Turning Point For Adventure 60 Riders – 34km

At this point our Adventure 60 riders will return back along Runnyford Road to the feed station and then follow the return leg back to Hanging Rock (see Return Instructions below)

Our Epic 80 riders turn left at the feed station and head along Bolaro Mountain Road for 12.5 km before turning left onto Quart Pot Road. Continue along Quart Pot road for approximately 5.7km where you turn left on to Eagans Road at Marshall point 18.

Riders continue along Egans Road for approximately 5.5 km until they reach the feed station on Runnyford Road where you turn right heading back on your return leg (see instructions below).

Return Point For Epic 80 Riders – 57.5km (24.5 KM to go)

Return From Egans Road Feed Station

From the feed station at Runnyford Road & Egans Rd riders retrace following back down Runnyford Road for approximately 8 km before turning north at Marhall 15. Continue north until reaching Marshal 14, then turn right (east) to cross under the Princes Highway and into Deep Creek Road and Botanic Garden.

Stay on Deep Creek Road past the Botanic Garden, then turn right through the gate onto Cpt 142/1 which takes you over the Dam Wall. Follow the trail signage onto Myrtle Creek Road and turn left again at Marshal 6 onto Dog Trap Road.

All riders then turn left onto Ridge Road before turning right at M19 onto CPT 139/1. Riders keep left following the trail markings down to the Curtis Trail Head on Curtis Road which is the end of our gravel ride. Continue along Curtis Road turning right onto Glenella Road.

All riders then turn left at roundabout onto George Bass Drive and straight at the lights onto Beach Road turning right into the event center.

All riders must obey the Marshalls stationed along the road and be aware this is a public road so normal road rules apply. This is a “Ride” not a race so we ask that riders DO NOT race this section.
