It is the new multi-day Cycling Festival launched in Australia in October 2025 in Batemans Bay and Mogo Trails on the NSW South Coast. The event is organised by Rocky Trail Entertainment, one of the country’s major private mountain bike event promoters.
In a nutshell, Sea Otter Australia is the Southern Hemisphere’s only edition of the iconic Sea Otter cycling festival, established in California’s Monterey over 30 years ago. With Girona in Spain, Sea Otter Europe, our Festival is one of just two licensed global events. Launched in Batemans Bay and Mogo Trails, NSW, it’s a multi-day celebration of all things bike, blending world-class racing across disciplines (enduro, XC, gravel, e-bikes and more) with an expansive expo featuring the latest bikes, gear, demos, and deals.
Kicking off with a two-day Sea Otter Summit, the event brings together leaders in trail tourism, the bike industry, and government to shape the future of cycling in Australia. Then the action shifts to the multi-day festival— packed with racing, riding, and family-friendly activities—set against the backdrop of the newly built Mogo Trails, 125 km of purpose-built trails on Yuin Country.

For years, we’ve brought you incredible events, and now, we’re taking it to a whole new level. We’ve secured the license to bring the legendary Sea Otter Festival to Australia, continuing a 30-year legacy of incredible bike culture, and trust us, this is where you NEED to be this October!
If you don’t know Rocky Trail Entertainment – we’re one of Australia’s major private mountain bike event organisers. We run 40 races along the East Coast of Australia and with our sister company, Rocky Trail Destination, over the last four years we worked on the detailed design and managed construction of Mogo Trails. We moved our family and businesses to Batemans Bay and every free minute we ride Mogo Trails, The Home of Sea Otter Australia.

We’ve got a massive line-up of races and rides, all happening in the one festival. We’ve packed in eight official events, meaning there’s a race or a ride every single day for everyone. And where is all this magic happening? On the awesome Mogo Trails, the official Home of Sea Otter Australia! (Fun fact: the Rocky Trail Team has been deeply involved with the Mogo Trails from the ground up, working on the detailed design with Next Level and managing the design of the incredible 125km network for the past four years. So you know these trails are going to be prime!)

The Event Centre is at the heart of it all. We’re based right in town at the Hanging Rock Recreational Precinct and ALL races, rides and activities start here – just a 10min ride away from the Mogo Trails Curtis Road Trailhead.

The Event Hub is a massive expo with 150+ national and international brands showcasing the absolute latest gear and innovations. Get Ready to Race: The Epic Sea Otter Australia Line-Up!
We’ve pulled out all the stops to bring you an unmatched variety of racing and riding. This isn’t just racing; it’s the ultimate bike festival experience! Imagine: 8 official events, from the hardcore SMITH Gravity Enduro and thrilling FOX Superflow® to the epic THULE Marathon and Sea Otter Schools Championships for junior racers on Mogo Trails to the MAXXIS Effervelo Gravel Fondo in the Mogo State Forest.
Plus, experience the adrenaline of our eOtterX – Bosch ePowered for e-Bikers, the MUC-OFF Ottercross beach battles for cyclo-cross racers, and the invite-only jaw-dropping Freestyle Jump Comp at the Event Hub in the middle of Batemans Bay.
There will also be a massive line-up of kids activities, coaching taster clinics for all, social rides and ticketed shuttles to the new Mogo Trails Burnaaga Adventure Trail and the Narooma MTB Park too.
