You know Rocky Trail Entertainment. You know our passion for gravity enduro, marathon, gravel, and getting out on two wheels in nature. For years, we’ve brought you incredible events, and now, we’re taking it to a whole new level. We’ve secured the license to bring the legendary Sea Otter Festival to Australia, continuing a 30-year legacy of incredible bike culture, and trust us, this is where you NEED to be this October!
If you don’t know Rocky Trail Entertainment – we’re one of Australia’s major private mountain bike event organisers. We run 40 races along the East Coast of Australia and with our sister company, Rocky Trail Destination, over the last four years we worked on the detailed design and managed construction of Mogo Trails. We moved our family and businesses to Batemans Bay and every free minute we ride Mogo Trails, The Home of Sea Otter Australia.
Sea Otter Australia: The Southern Hemisphere’s New Mega Bike Festival Has Arrived!
Forget everything you thought you knew about bike events in Australia. Sea Otter Australia isn’t just a race; it’s a non-stop, two-day cycling extravaganza that’s set to become the biggest MTB festival in the Southern Hemisphere! We’re talking multi-day festival where noone is just watching the action – EVERYONE is right IN THE MIDDLE of it all!
We’ve got a massive line-up of races and rides, all happening in the one festival. We’ve packed in eight official events, meaning there’s a race or a ride every single day for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned pinner, a gravity shredder, and endurance gun or just love the vibe, you’ll find your tribe and your challenge here.
And where is all this magic happening? On the awesome Mogo Trails, the official Home of Sea Otter Australia! (Fun fact: the Rocky Trail Team has been deeply involved with the Mogo Trails from the ground up, working on the detailed design with Next Level and managing the design of the incredible 125km network for the past four years. So you know these trails are going to be prime!)

The Event Centre is at the heart of it all. We’re based right in town at the Hanging Rock Recreational Precinct and ALL races, rides and activities start here – just a 10min ride away from the Mogo Trails Curtis Road Trailhead.

Sea Otter Australia Schools Championships
We’re building the future generation! Hosted by Rocky Trail Academy, this event brings high school talent from three states to Mogo Trails. With three distinct tracks for Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors, watch these young athletes battle for school pride and a place in Sea Otter history.
THULE Marathon
Traditional marathon racing at its finest! Hundreds of riders will surge from the event hub in a thrilling mass start. Choose your challenge: a demanding 29km loop for 1, 2, or 3 laps, battling across the region’s best trails before a triumphant finish back at the hub.
FOX Superflow®
Party trains incoming! This legendary format means no start orders – just ride with your crew, rail berms, and SEND IT! Hit up 4 epic tracks in any order, with 5 chances to nail your fastest time on each. Two Superflow® races across the weekend, followed by daily podium celebrations at the main Event Hub. It’s the ultimate social enduro experience!
SMITH Gravity Enduro
For those craving a true challenge! Two days of intense competition on the most demanding terrains Mogo Trails offers. This is traditional enduro racing with strict start times, 10 demanding timed stages, and over 60km of riding. Launch from and return to the Event Hub, and witness the crowning of the true warriors! Black and double-black terrain, full face helmet and protection is mandatory.

MAXXIS Effervelo Gravel Fondo
Escape into the stunning South Coast landscapes! Ride out from the Event Hub on an unforgettable gravel adventure through Mogo State Forest and beyond. Choose your challenge: 42km, 55km, or 80km of sweet gravel rolling, all starting and finishing at the vibrant Event Hub. Discover incredible gravel riding on offer!
MUC-OFF OtterCross
Beach Battle: Unlike anything else in Australia! We’re bringing you the nation’s only beachside Cyclo-Cross race, set against the stunning backdrop of Batemans Bay Marine Park. A mass start, battling it out along 400m of pristine beach, weaving right through the heart of the Event Hub. This evening spectacle is a must-see!
eOtterX – Bosch ePowered
Get ready for electrifying, brand-new eBike race format! Four riders, head-to-head on a technical lap, right in the heart of the Event Hub. Expect elbows-out racing and pure eBike power as we crown the eOtter Four Cross champion!
INVITE ONLY! – Otter Jam Freestyle Comp
High-flying action right in the heart of the Event Hub! Watch riders invited to compete in this event push their limits and showcase impressive tricks, launching off ramps and landing on a massive airbag. This judged freestyle event is a show-stopping spectacle where creativity and skill collide!
Race entries come with a Festival Pass
Every athlete gets a 3 Day Festival Pass as part of their registration valued at $25. Single day Festival & Expo tickets will be available on the gate for $10 or $25 for a full 3 Day Festival Pass.
FREE Kids Activities
We’re fostering the next generation! Children 10 and under get FREE Festival Passes, unlocking a world of kid-focused activities and entertainment. From exciting games to skill-building sessions, we’re making sure Sea Otter creates lifelong cycling memories for the whole family.
